Marine
- Possibly the most applicable use for Powder Coating. Metals degrade in environments that are subject to simple elements such as sunlight, air, water and most detrimental - salt.
- Been to a recent Boat show? You have probably noticed a lot more parts (Rails, T-Tops, etc) being powder coated. Why? because it allows creativity and color coordination while providing the ultimate in corrosion protection.
- We have partnered with a Florida manufacturer of Polyester, Epoxy and hybrid powders formulated especially for the Marine environment.
- These powders have been tested and are in use in Florida's harsh environment. Under controlled Salt-Spray tests - they hold up remarkably well. Contact us for test results and samples.
- Aluminum and Stainless - the two most prevalent marine metals tend to degrade differently. While all steel - even stainless can and will eventually rust in a traditional manner, Aluminium produces oxidation or "white rust". Both types of rust are at a minimum and eye sore and are potentially a source of part failure on your vessel.
- Done correctly - marine metals benefit greatly from powder coating - lessening maintenance and protecting your investment.
- Note - Depending on the color - Marine powders are formulated in epoxy, polyester or a hybrid. Epoxies offer great durability but are more prone to color fading from the sun. For this reason, epoxy powders are not typically available in bright colors such as reds, etc. Consult with us about your application and we will help you make an informed choice.
